Costa Calma lies in the sheltered south of the island, right by the long beaches of Jandía. The town has restaurants, supermarkets, a medical centre and a petrol station. For kitesurfing and windsurfing, the Sotavento lagoon is close by.

Costa Calma is a good base for day trips: to the endless beach of Cofete, the palm gorges inland, the cliffs of the west coast, or out at night under a sky full of stars you rarely see at home. Marc took all of these photos himself.

Frequently asked questions
How far is it to the beach?
Both houses are about 450 metres from the beach at Costa Calma, roughly a six-minute walk. Other beaches in town are within walking distance too.
How do I get from the airport to Costa Calma?
The airport is about 65 km away. A hire car from the airport is easiest. Taxis and buses also run, with the stop 100 m from the house. A transfer can be arranged for a fee. More under Getting here and day trips.
What is the minimum stay?
Casa del Sol Rio is usually let for 7 nights or more; shorter stays on request. Stays of 30 nights or more get a 10% discount. Casa Zimbo has a minimum stay of 7 nights.
Are children and pets welcome?
Children are welcome. Casa del Sol Rio has a cot and a high chair. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in either house.
How does payment work?
After written confirmation by email, a 30% deposit is due by bank transfer. The balance and the €300 security deposit are paid in cash on arrival or by transfer in advance. The €110 final cleaning fee is paid to Eduardo, the local property manager, on arrival. The security deposit is returned when you leave.
Is there Wi-Fi and TV?
Yes, both houses have Wi-Fi. At Casa del Sol Rio, 150 GB are included and another 150 GB cost €20. There is also a 50-inch smart TV with German channels.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-out is by 12 noon; other times on request. On arrival you are welcomed by Eduardo, the local property manager, who speaks German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. You will receive his contact details in advance to arrange your arrival time.
